Our Story
Pralines & Promises was born from a blend of sweet memories and steadfast faith. My momma used to make homemade pralines — a simple act of love that always brought comfort and connection to our family. After she passed, I discovered the journals she had filled with reflections, prayers, and words of encouragement rooted in her deep love for Jesus.
Those handwritten pages felt like promises — gentle reminders that even in the hardest seasons, God’s grace is still sweet.
That legacy inspired me to create Pralines & Promises — a faith-filled subscription meant to help women pause, reflect, and draw closer to God. Each monthly delivery is a small reminder that His presence is near, His promises are true, and His love continues to meet us right where we are.

Meet Melisa
Melisa is the heart behind the words. She holds a BA in Business Management and Economics and currently teaches English and Science. A writer at heart and a Christian for over 30 years, Melisa also serves as a Sunday School teacher and is the proud wife and mom of four — three boys and Jaden. Her faith, love for encouragement, and passion for helping others grow closer to God are the foundation of Pralines & Promises.
Meet Jaden
Jaden is the creative spark and designer behind the beauty you’ll see in every detail. At 20 years old, she is a graphic designer, writer, and artist — and Melisa’s daughter and Claudette’s granddaughter. Jaden brings a modern, sassy, and opinionated flair, paired with a deep love for Christ. Her fresh perspective and creativity help bring the heart of Pralines & Promises to life.
Meet Claudette
Claudette, although she has passed on, she is the spiritual root of Pralines & Promises. She was a devoted Christian, Sunday School teacher, and faithful encourager who poured her love for God into handwritten cards, letters, and journals for decades. After her passing, her words became a treasured legacy — one that now lives on through the reflections shared in each monthly envelope.
